Account and Data Deletion Policy
Last updated: June 29, 2026
Effective date: June 29, 2026
This Policy explains how KomiU account deletion works and what records may be retained after deletion.
1. How to request account deletion
If you can access your account, use the in-app account deletion flow from account and security settings. The App will show deletion consequences, available verification methods, and a confirmation checkbox. You must complete identity verification before submitting the request.
If you cannot access your account, contact [email protected] or [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity and account ownership before acting on the request.
2. Cooling-off period
After you submit account deletion, your account enters a 24-hour cooling-off period. During this period, ordinary App features, chat, paid purchases, recommendations, and IM connections are restricted. You may revoke the deletion request during the cooling-off period using the App's revocation flow.
3. What happens after deletion is completed
- Your ordinary account access ends.
- Your account email and active Apple or Google provider binding may be released where supported, so they can be used for a new account.
- Your profile is removed or restricted from ordinary display, subject to technical timing and retention exceptions.
- Your remaining usable token batches may be expired or adjusted according to our wallet and paid feature rules.
- Your old Apple IAP payment account binding is cancelled for future use; old transactions remain tied to their historical records.
4. Records we may retain
Account deletion does not mean immediate physical deletion of all records from all systems, backups, other users' devices, or legal archives. We may retain or restrict access to records where needed for legitimate purposes, including:
- Orders, Apple transactions, payment events, wallet ledgers, token fulfillment, refund, chargeback, tax, accounting, audit, and dispute records.
- Chat messages, media, and delivery records needed for message history, other users' records, report handling, safety, disputes, or legal compliance.
- Reports, moderation evidence, safety records, restrictions, appeals, and fraud or abuse signals.
- Security logs, access logs, session records, IP records, device records, and abuse-prevention records.
- Privacy requests, support tickets, legal notices, and records showing how requests were handled.
- Backups until overwritten or deleted according to backup schedules, unless preserved for legal, security, or dispute reasons.
5. Other users' content and conversations
Messages you sent to other users, content saved on other users' devices, reports submitted by other users, and evidence needed to protect users may continue to exist after your account deletion. We may remove your ordinary profile display while preserving records needed for safety, disputes, or legal compliance.
6. Active purchases and refunds
Deleting your account does not automatically refund purchases. Apple handles App Store payment refunds under Apple policies. KomiU may adjust digital tokens or related wallet records after refund, reversal, account cancellation, or fraud review as described in the Token Purchase Terms and Refund and Token Return Rules.
7. Fraud, safety, and legal exceptions
Where allowed by applicable law, we may delay, deny, or limit deletion where needed to detect security incidents, protect users, prevent fraud, comply with law, preserve evidence, resolve disputes, enforce policies, or complete transactions. We will not use retained records for ordinary profile display unless allowed by policy and law.
8. Contact
For account deletion questions, contact [email protected] or [email protected].
